He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Bitner and Mable Bitner; his sister Doris Marian Hensley; his parents-in-law, Shelby and Elizabeth Graham; and his siblings-in-law, Shelby Graham, William Edwards, Inna Sue Treadway (Eugene) and Mary Barnette.

He is survived by: his wife Johnnie Graham Bitner; his children, Whitney (Justin Bryant), Krystal (Judley Ross) and Thomas "TJ" Bitner; his granddaughters, Kaitlyn Bryant and Vanna Ross; his nieces and nephews, Wyndi Snapp (Jeremy) and Scott G'fellers (Amanda); his siblings-in-law, Wilfred Hensley, Dallas Barnette, Freda Graham, Janette Edwards, Margaret Arnett (Ned), Frankie Kimery and Carol Monk; his cousin Joyce Rich (Jim); and his family, Charles, Judy, Neil, Eleanor G'fellers, John, Trish Carter and Amy McDavid. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and cousins.

Visitation was held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jeffers Funeral Home (101 Graceland Ln, Afton, TN 37616). A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A reception was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:15 AM at the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
