She was predeceased by: her husbands, Marlin Lee Burkey, Sr. and Edward Reed; her parents, Charlie Shipley and Lura Shipley; her son Anthony Burkey; and her siblings, Violet Bailey and Charles Shipley.
She is survived by: her son Marlin Lee Burkey, Jr. of Greeneville; and her siblings, Joan Schroer of Greeneville and Tommy Shipley of Kingsport. She is also survived by two grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
