He was predeceased by: his parents, William Whitten and Mildred Long Whitten; and his sister Delores Miller. He is survived by: his wife Betty Vickery Whitten; his daughter Sherol Edwards (Jeff Scarborough); his sister Alene Goldstein; his granddaughters, Jenna Hudson (Terry) and Whitney Kieffner (Mark); and his great grandchildren, Jase Warden, Jayden Warden, Mia Hudson, Ledger Kieffner and Gray Kieffner.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery (McCrory Ln, Nashville, TN 37221).
