He was predeceased by: his parents, George C. Ellis and Maude Agnes Ogg Ellis; his wife Melba Rhea Moulton Ellis; his siblings, Hershel Ellis, Ray Ellis and Dot Justice; and his son-in-law Mickey Petty.
He is survived by: his children, Scott Ellis of Greenbrier, Shelia Petty of Goodlettsville and Mike Ellis (Tonia) of Greenbrier; his sister Leona Ayers of Greenbrier; and his grandchildren, Whitney Nowik, Daniel Ellis, Ashley Biggs, Cameron Ellis and Cason Ellis. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
