He was predeceased by: his father Donald Gillespie; his stepfather Thomas "Tom" Marion Hutton; and his brother Donald Scott Gillespie. He is survived by: his mother Nancy Gail Hooper Gillespie; his wife Tammy Jo Flatt Gillespie; his children, Ryan Gillespie (Chelsey) and Rachel; his siblings, Shane Gillespie (Mary Frances), Shannon Jones (Larry), Sherree Capshaw (Todd) and Shonda Carter (Michael); and his grandchildren, Claire Ann Gillespie and Chandler Shay Gillespie.
