Barry G. Chism Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Barry G. Chism of Greenbrier, Tennessee, who passed away on April 20, 2021 at the age of 95. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Barry G. Chism to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Gus Eugene and Lizzie Lee Batts Chism; his granddaughter Wendy Dugger; and his sisters, June Cook and Jean Bailey.

He is survived by: his wife Dora "Sue" Harris Chism; his children, Dale Chism (Marilyn) of Murfreesboro, TN, Carol Dugger (Wayne) of Clarksville, TN and Melissa Norwood (Bill) of Murfreesboro, TN; and his grandsons, Jared Norwood, Matt Norwood and Eric Dugger (Sarah). He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Legion Post 45, Greenbrier Historical Society or Greenbrier First Baptist Church Daily Bread program. Donations may be made payable to either charity and left at or mailed to Austin & Bell Funeral Home, 2619 Hwy 41 S., Greenbrier, TN 37073.
