He was predeceased by: his wife June Wear Evans; and his grandson Kasee Cope. He is survived by: his son Garry Evans; his daughter-in-law Glenda Evans; his daughters, Brenda Morton, Terry Morton, Hope Griffin and Michael Griffin; his grandchildren, Jody Deakin, Keith Deakin, Autum Childress, J. J. Cope and Makayla Morton; his great grandchild Kaiser Nicholson; and his brother Everett Evans.
