He was predeceased by: his parents, Neal Calhoun and Margie Calhoun; and his siblings, J. D., Bill, Mack, Edsel Calhoun, Dorothy and Jesse.

He is survived by: his sons, Shane Calhoun (Cheri) and Brandon Calhoun (Amber); and his sister Irene Laney. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
