He is survived by: his wife Brenda Ensley Hammett; his daughters, Missy Shelton (Chris), Dawn Cox (Lee) and Rhonda McSwain; his grandchildren, Anthony Cox (Brittany), Lita Cox, Joshua McSwain (Monica), Elisha McSwain, Jessica Britt, Kristen Shelton (Travis), Jackie Britt (Vidal Simon), Curtis Shelton (Courtney), Kaitlin Britt and Caleb Shelton; his great grandchildren, Mia, Kyleigh, Brayden, Carter, Greyson, Wyatt and Olivia; his sister Brenda Oxendine; and his nephew Richard Hammett, III. He is also survived by several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
