He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Cowan and Edythe White Cowan; and his brothers, Ronald Cowan and William Cowan. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Greer Kitzmiller Cowan; his children, Heather Wang (Bruce) of Gary, Angela Harris (Darrell) of Gray, Tennessee, James Cowan (Robyn) of Hernando, Steven Cowan (Vicky) of Princeton, Ryan Cowan and Randy Kitzmiller (Kim) of Gray, Tennessee; his brothers, Tommy Cowan (Jean) of Charles Town and Dwight Cowan (Darnell) of Boonesmill, Virginia; his grandchildren, Mical, Netty, Landen, Brandon (Jennifer), Keisha and Donavan; and his great grandchildren, Adam and Matthew.
