He was predeceased by: his parents, Abraham Jackson (A. J.) and Hattie Ella Hall Sanders; his wife Lucy Vaughan Begley Sanders; his siblings, Nathaniel Judson, Haskel Lee, William Jackson, James Dayton, Wallace Ferrell and Gladys Leota Douglas; and his siblings-in-law, Patsy Fitzgerald Sanders, Virginia Barnes Sanders, Ama Dean Chase Sanders, Wanda Estep Sanders, Sarah Eva Goodman Sanders, Mary Elizabeth Crouch Sanders, Minnie Belle Martin Sanders, Clinton J. Fitzgerald and Bob Douglas.

He is survived by: his children, Charles Clifton Sanders (Lucretia Bledsoe Sanders) of Johnson City and Carolyn Sanders Yokley (Charles Eddie Yokley) of Greeneville, Tennessee; his siblings, Clifford Glen and Mary Sue Fitzgerald; his grandchildren, Chad, Debbie Sanders of Telford and Jeremy Sanders of Johnson City; and his great grandchildren, Jared, Carley, Madison Sanders of Telford and Sarah Yokley of Gallatin, Tennessee. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and a host of special friends.
