He was predeceased by: his wives, Loretta Davenport Bowers and Mary Williams Bowers; his daughters, Connie Bowers and Karen Davenport; his parents, Coy Bowers and Maggie Williams Bowers; and his brothers, Kermit and Willard Bowers.
He is survived by: his daughters, Debbie Davenport (Brent) and Lisa Montgomery (Tom); his stepdaughters, Lois Johnson (Joe) and Lisa Harrell (Nathan); his grandchildren, Hiram Gilreath (Kadi) and Shady Sastre (Joe); his siblings, Carroll Bowers (Bug), Charles E. Bowers, Marge Thompson, Faye Crosswhite and Fredia Groce; and his close friends, Murrell and Brenda Campbell. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
