He was predeceased by: his parents, Porter Lester and Ella Baker Lester; and his brother Rev. Elmer Lester. He is survived by: his wife Thelma M. Lester; his children, Katherine Hayes and Delmar Lester, Jr. (Shelley); and his grandchildren, Timothy Lester (Megan), Jesseca Stephens (Joshua), Evan Hayes and Joiella Lester.
