He was predeceased by: his parents, James Harris and Lillian Harris. He is survived by: his wife Angela Harris; his son Brandon Harris (Jennifer); his grandsons, Adam and Matthew; his sister Jan Akers (James); and his brother-in-law Randy Kitzmiller (Kim).

The family request in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital cancer research.
