He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Brown and Mary Brown; his sisters, Barbara Allen and Becky Brown; and his daughter-in-law Martha Keith Brown.

He is survived by: his wife Betty Allen; and his children, Russell Brown (Evelyn) of Lafayette, Randy Brown (Kim) of Crossville, Tim Brown (Tammie) of Gainesboro, Tom Brown (Debbie) of Ethridge, TN, Sam Brown (Marcia) of Sparta, Alan Brown (Emily) of Gainesboro and Angela Mathis (Jeff) of Nashville.
