He is survived by: his children, Starlynn Matthews of Spring City, TN, Vernon Armstrong Jr. of Grandview, TN and David Armstrong of Grandview, TN; his brother Norman Armstrong of California; and his grandchildren, Danyelle Gilliam, Trevor Armstrong, Kaylee Armstrong, Nick Armstrong, Shawn Armstrong, Tricia Armstrong, Christopher Armstrong and Jessica Gilliam. He is also survived by several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
