We are sad to announce that on June 5, 2023, at the age of 84, Peggy Bates Brown of Gordonsville, Tennessee, born in Carthage, Tennessee passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Hindsley Bates and Sadie Bell Winfree Bates; her grandparents, Will, Lela Winfree, Fox and Della Cripps; her daughter Sherry Brown; her siblings, Billy Bates, Lois Inez Crawford and Mary Morales; her daughter-in-law Garlene Eastes Burton; and her grandson Jeremy Burton.

She is survived by: her children, Harold Burton (Barbara) of Smithville, TN, Tim Burton of Grant, TN, Scott Wilson (Amy Davis) of Gordonsville, TN and Missy Brown Deasy (Sam Beaty) of Riddleton, TN.; and her grandchildren, Stevie Mabe, Chris Burton (Mashell), Lindsey Gull (Keith), Holly Burton (Nate Busard), Timothy Wilson, Ally Wilson, Zeke Gibbs, Lucas Freeman, Kelsy Thiem (Savanna) and Jessie Preston.
