He was predeceased by: his mother Dora Mai Cowan; his wife Janice Gail Williams Preston; his sister Reba Bellar; and his pets, Stormy and Meow Meow.
He is survived by: his father David Monroe Preston; his family John Deere Tractor; his children, Renee Armistead (Steve) of Club Springs, TN, Deborah Preston of Gordonsville, TN, Penny Preston of Gordonsville, TN and Scott Preston (Kim) of Gordonsville, TN.; and his grandchildren, Brooke Armistead, Brandi Lim (Serman), Brittany Reese (Caleb), Mackenzie Silvers (Brett), Jesse Cole Preston and Katie Preston.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Home (71 E Main St, Gordonsville, TN 38563). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
The family requests memorials be made to the Smith County Humane Society or charity of your choice.
