He is survived by: his spouse Katherine Ruth Ballinger Hunter; his children, Karen Blackburn (Larry) of Lebanon, TN, Ellen Smith (Michael) of Lebanon, TN., Rick Hunter of Gordonsville, TN, Gary Hunter (Kimberly) of Aurora, OH and Bobby Hunter of Winchester, TN.; his grandchildren, Brian Blackburn (Jennifer), Brad Blackburn (Abigail), Lashaun Jones (Travis), Amanda Hunter Bilbrey, Chad Hunter, Hannah Smith, Chelsea Smith, Josh Hunter, Nathan Hunter and Sam Hunter; and his great grandchildren, Bryson, Carleigh, Levi, Emma, Miles, Dylan, Brayden, Kingsley and Callahan.

Hunter's family request memorial donations in his memory be made to Chad's Run.
