He was predeceased by: his parents, William Wendelyn and Frances Benz (Wade); his sisters, Carrie Louise Smith (Marvin), Wilhelmina Harris (Petie), Frances Harrison (Harry) and Ruth Lewis (Bob); and his daughter-in-law Johanna Benz (Hale).
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Pauline (Williams); his sons, James Edward (Beth), William Wendelyn, III, Gary Wade (Diane) and Curtis Lee, Sr. (Lee Anne); and his brother Jack Benz (Naroma). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
