He is survived by: his children, Walter Traylor Batey (Darlene), James Thomas Batey (Tracey) and Martha Christine Batey-Hicks (Vince); his grandchildren, Gray Batey, Amy Batey and Brooke Batey; and his brother Charles Batey.
