He was predeceased by: his parents, Elza Dawson and Maxine Sissel Dawson; and his sister Donna Meyers. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Miller Dawson; his children, Mark Dawson (Michelle) of Elijay, GA, Sheryl Brown (Kevin) of Wilmington, NC, Dave Dawson (Kathy) of Portland, TN, Steve Dawson (Regina) of Onalaska, WI and Lynne Martel of East Moline, IL.; and his sister-in-law Maxine Coiner (Bill) of Atalissa, IA.. He is also survived by 11 Grandchildren; 7 Step Grandchildren; 16 Great Grandchildren; 16 Step Great Grandchildren; 8 Nieces & Nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts are requested for medical and funeral expenses.
