He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Lusky Briggs and Lorain Blanch Leftwich Briggs; his wife Juanita Pruitt Briggs; and his siblings, Bobby Briggs, Vernon Briggs, Milton Kemp Briggs, Edna Ruth Kirby, Betty Callis, Mildred Carr and Fay Adcock.
He is survived by: his children, Gary Briggs and Lisa Briggs Hale (Ed); his grandchildren, Brian Hale (Elyse), David Hale (Rachael) and Lindsay Hale Bonnell (Lucus); his great grandchildren, William Hale, Brady Hale, Holland Hale, Ezra Hale and Levi Bonnell; and his siblings, Beverly Scurlock, Judy Morris and Jerry Briggs. He is also survived by many cousins, neices and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A celebration of life was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Bethel Baptist Church (7022 Bethel Rd, Greenbrier, TN 37073).
