It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jonnie Michael Speight of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, who passed away on May 11, 2024, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Estill and Ada Evelyn Speight; his brother James E. Speight, Jr.; his grandson Devon Hunter Speight; his niece Michelle Speight Cooper; and his in-laws, Charles and Dorothy Cummings.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Cummings Speight; his children, Hallie Sloan (David), Charles (Anita) and Michael; his adoptive son Norman Taulbee; his granddaughters, Victoria Vinsant (Gregory), Olivia Hughes (Isaac), Destiney Speight and Ariel Hayden; his siblings-in-law, Connie Bennett and Wayne Bennett; his nephew Brad Bennett (Paige); and his nieces, Amy Bennett (Andrea), Pam Pardue (Steve), Kimberly Profitt (Tommy), Megan Larvie (Jacob) and Melissa Speight. He is also survived by cousins, great nieces, and great nephews.
