He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Berry Cantrell Sr. and Elizabeth Cantrell. He is survived by: his wife Sue Cantrell; his children, Charlotte McCoy and John Bailey (Donna); his sisters, Mary Watson (Aubry) and Carol Young; and his grandchildren, Megan Mitchell (Andy), Brittany Cadwallader (Jeremiah), Amber Anderson (Jeff), Kristi Ingram (Colton), Wyatt Bailey and Morgan Bailey. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren.
