He was predeceased by: his parents, Florence Ruth Smerlinski and Benson Smerlinski; his sisters, Grace Jefferies, Joan Deveraux, Geri Rech and Jeanie Andrews; and his granddaughter Rebecca Merlin.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Merlin; and his children, Daniel Merlin (Sandy), Debra King, David Merlin (Tressa), DixieLee Maxwell (David) and Jack Merlin, Jr (Brooke). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Jack's name to the charity of one's choosing.
