She was predeceased by: her parents, Myers Gatlin and Clara Gatlin; her husband Guy Wilson Sloan; her sister Hazel Gregory; and her son-in-law Jimmy Shepherd.

She is survived by: her brother James Daniel Gatlin (Delma); her daughters, Janice Baxter (Doug) and Teresa Shepherd; her grandchildren, Resa Fleming (Mark), Kara Mae Jackson (Tyrell), Jill Davis (Josh) and Dustin Shepherd (Jessica); her great grandchildren, Dagen Fleming, Maely, Paelyn Jackson, Averie Blankenship and Ellie Sloan Shepherd; and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Alexis Fleming and Zach Jackson (Maddey). She is also survived by her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
