He is survived by: his wife Jane Ellen Smith Thompson; his children, Deborah Denise Thompson Thomas (Fred), Robert Stanford Thompson (Karen), Robin Lea Thompson Robertson (Dale), Patti Beth Thompson Richard, Benjamin Lance Thompson and Timothy Wade Thompson (Shari); and his grandchildren, Jennifer Williams Hutchings, Talon Thompson Bell, Cassidy Caitlin Richard, Aston Gabriel Thompson, Jane Ellen Robertson and Alex Wade Thompson.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, March 25th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. A memorial service was held on Tuesday, March 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Grace Baptist Church (1510 Old Hickory Blvd, Nashville, TN 37207).
