He was predeceased by: his parents, Pendy Peterman and Velma Bilbrey Peterman; and his siblings, Ken Peterman, Lester Peterman, Imogene Mordock and Maxine Terry.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Ruth Peterman (Cummings); and his children, Jenny Hill (Rick Howard), Cheryl Peterman (Anna), Dwain Peterman (Vikki) and Susan Brinn (David). He is also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
