He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Phelps and Clara Phelps; and his siblings, Roland, Harold, Bill, Ted, Bobbie Phelps and Sue Jordan.
He is survived by: his wife Rubye Phelps of Gleason, TN.; his children, Jeff Phelps (Cheryl) of Helena, AL, Jackie Taylor (Terry) of Gleason, TN and Doug Phelps (Tracy) of Easley, SC.; his grandchildren, Matt Phelps (Sandy), Courtney Amacher (Greg), Paige Osborne (Clark), Tyler Phelps (Peyton), Blake Taylor, Madison Phelps (Jesse Dunn) and Corey Phelps; and his great grandchildren, Logan, Avery, Anna-Kate and Drew.
