He was predeceased by: his father John McDonald; and his grandparents, Beatrice, Walter Paulick, Ethel and Frank McDonald.

He is survived by: his mother Jane McDonald; his significant other Michelle; his children, Michael Francis and Sarah Jane; his siblings, Christopher, Scott and Jill; his siblings-in-law, Steven Lindemann (Debbie), Michael Lindemann (Laura) and Sarah Markwald (Brian); his mother-in-law Jane Lindemann; his uncle Walter Paulick (Karen); his aunt Rosemary Wilson (Paul); and his nieces and nephews, Katie, Grace, Nora, Eliza, Joseph, Andrew, Jacob, Samson and August. He is also survived by many cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
