He was predeceased by: his parents, Fay Lyle and Lessie Monroe Allison Kennedy; his wife Elizabeth Ann Kennedy; and his sister Judy Robins. He is survived by: his children, Karla Rice (Glenn), Michael Kennedy and Mary Anthony (Richard); his grandchildren, Tommy, Kerri (Francis), Kirk, Wesley (Shania), Anthony (Abbie), Jenna, Luke and Ryan; his sister Betty Beard; and also, Kayla, Jakob and Penelope Jane. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.

Memorial donations can be made to Literacy Mid-South, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Alzheimer's Association or the University of Memphis Herff College of Engineering scholarship fund.
