He is survived by: his wife Lillian "Ann" Melear; his sons, Derrell Melear Jr. (Elaine) and Barry Melear (Selena); his sister Linda Cole; his grandchildren, Daniel Stark, Richard Stark and Ashley Arellano (Jesus); and his great grandchildren, Treston Stark and Cayleigh Yelvington.
