He was predeceased by: his son Terrie Knight; and his grandson Justin Davis. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Sherman; his children, Sherry Knight, Julie Fournier (Bob), David Sherman (Cindy), Michael Sherman (Brenda) and Paul Sherman (Sherry); his grandchildren, Kristan Perkins (John), Danny Davis, Jr., Chelsea Kalember (Benjamin), Noah Fournier, Isaac Fournier, Luke Fournier, Juliet Fournier, Jack Fournier, Matthew Sherman (Nikki), Sean Sherman, Stephanie Sherman, Elizabeth Rufener, Brandon Cremins, Bonnie Sherman, Elizabeth Sherman, Roger Sherman, William Sherman, Meryem Sherman, Elara Sherman, Ansel Sherman, Samuel Saulsbury, Luke Saulsbury and Jack Saulsbury; and his siblings, Barbara May (Skeet), Deborah Higgens and Robert Sherman.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Reverend Sherman, may be offered to Farmington Presbyterian Church.
