She was predeceased by: her siblings, Elihue, Lute, Lurlene, Geneva, Loyce, Cloyce, Bonnie and Shirley.

She is survived by: her husband Jonathan "Bud" Shanks; her children, Lisa Shanks of Bolivar, Teresa Neal of Germantown and Ron Shanks (Lee Anne) of Cary; her grandchildren, Kevin Weaver (Jenny), Rachel Mayer (Pete), Evan Shanks (Alyssa), Elliott Shanks and Josephine Shanks; and her great grandchildren, Hayden, Connor, Ella, Sara, Raleigh, Tilly, Brantley, River and Micah. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
