He was predeceased by : his wife Lorane Harris (Matthews); his parents, Will Harris and Margaret Cofer Harris; and his siblings, Clara Cavette, Opal Elkins, Thelma Cissom, Willie Beaty, Fern Collins, Ira M and Homer.

He is survived by : his brother Marvin (Vivian); his children, Gary (Kathleen) and Phyllis (Bruce Tilden); and his stepgrandchildren, Wendi and Craig Tilden.
