He was predeceased by: his daughter Janice Tate. He is survived by: his significant other JoAnn Hodges; his son Jimmy Ray; his daughter-in-law Christine Tate; his daughters, April, Chris Church and Amanda Bales; his siblings, Ned, Bobby Tate, Doris (James Splaine) and Faye (Blake Beasley); and the mother of his children Donna Tate. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in his honor to American Stroke Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692 A celebration of Jimmy's life will be held 2 PM Saturday at Country Girls R.V. Park, 1367 Hyatt Creek Road, Bryson City, North Carolina.
