He is survived by: his wife Belva Bales Downey; his sons, Curtis Downey (Pamela) and Charles "Chuck" Downey (Kristina); his stepson Rick Bales; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Downey, Jonathan Downey, Melinda Marshall (Timothy) and Caden Downey; and his siblings, Sarah Downey Aro and Donald Downey.
