It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wilma Ruth Smith Howard of Gallatin, Tennessee, born in McMinnville, Tennessee, who passed away on November 2, 2024, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ruel Cantrell and Harriett Etta Cantrell; her husbands, Earl Barton and Neil Howard; and her brothers, Clinton Cantrell and Carmen Cantrell.
She is survived by: her son Dr. Phillip Smith (Anne Thomason Smith) of Gallatin; her grandchildren, Amanda Kendell (Steve) and Brandon Smith (Heather); her great grandchildren, Lily Neely (Bryan), Sam Kendell, Jackson Smith, McKinley Smith, Connor Wages and MacKenize Wages; and her great great grandchild Stevie Neely.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Hartsville Pike Church of Christ (744 Hartsville Pike, Gallatin, TN 37066). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. An entombment was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Sumner Memorial Gardens (420 Albert Gallatin Ave, Gallatin, TN 37066).
