He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Nathan Shelton, Sr. and Lola Belle Pentecost; and his brothers, Jimmy Shelton and Kenneth Shelton. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Burton Shelton of Gallatin; his son Christopher Wayne Shelton (Maria) of Gallatin; his sister Faye Johnson of Lebanon; his grandchildren, Hayleigh Elizabeth Shelton, Logan Griffith, Tiffany Piper and Jessica Piper; and his great grandchildren, K'Leighana Piper and Kingston Bowman.
