He was predeceased by: his birth father Stan Ross; his adoptive father Norman Ray Hufstedler (Joantte); and his siblings-in-law, Winward Dyer and Darlene Ross. He is survived by: his siblings-in-law, Dewey and Jewel Sisco; his wife Joan Hufstedler (Sisco) of Gainesboro; his daughter Kara Marie Smith (Beau) of Cookeville; his grandchildren, Bella Marie Smith-Ingram, Joshua Carson Smith (Crystal), Madden Ross Smith, Braxton William Smith, Caleb Ray Smith, David Elijah Smith, Ronan Ezekiel Smith, Nevaeh Marie Smith, Aurora and Aleena; his great grandchild Liam Wade Smith; his son William "Billy" David Hufstedler of Gainesboro; his brothers, Ron Ross (Connie) of Florida, Cliff Hufstedler of Arkansas and Jim Moore (Diane) of Missouri; and his sisters-in-law, Hilda Martinez (Andy) of California and Peggy Sue Dyer of Cookeville. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
