With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Tate McDaniel of Friendsville, Tennessee, who passed away on December 31, 2023 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his former wife JoAnn McDaniel; his son Kirk McDaniel; his sister Shirley; his brother-in-law Earl Quillen; and his parents, Manuel McDaniel and Ailene McDaniel.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn McDaniel of Friendsville; his children, Johnny (Wanda McDaniel), Michele (Joe Phillips), Jeff McDaniel of Friendsville, Tammy (Crawford Cunningham) and Tracy McDaniel of Maryville; his grandchildren, Kirk McDaniel of Tarpon Springs, FL, Nicholas Phillips of Greenback, Nathaniel, Jamie Phillips of Maryville, Kristina, Brandon Watts of Maryville, Marlaina Phillips of Madisonville, Callie Jo Cunningham of Maryville and Caleb Cunningham of Maryville; his stepdaughter Joy Hubbard of Knoxville; his stepgrandchildren, Kelli, James Hubbs III of Franklin, NC, Devin and Katie Baker of Maryville; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Robert Hubbs IV of Franklin, NC and Kaitlyn Hubbs of Franklin, NC. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
