He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Cox and Zula Ann Dean Cox; his wife Dorothy Thompson Cox; and his son Steven Ray Cox. He is survived by: his children, Hesley A. Cox, Jr. (Carol) of Memphis, TN, Kevin Cox (Linda) of Bakersville, NC and Karen Miles (Wiliam); and his siblings, Elkins Cox (Linda), Arthur Cox (Lois) of Franklin, NC and Zula Mae Porter of San Antonio, TX. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
