Though William O. may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those William O. touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He is survived by: his wife Ida Louise McKissack Blackmun; his brothers, Harlis Blackmun and Nathaniel Blackmun; his sister-in-law Lucille Buford (Ray); his nieces, Earlean Leach and Wilma Harrison; and his great-nephew Justin Harrison. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The lying in state was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Waters Funeral Home (1408 Columbia Ave, Franklin, TN 37064). A graveside service was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Pinecrest Memorial Gardens (2391 Nashville Hwy, Columbia, TN 38401).
