He was predeceased by: his parents, John Greenwald and Pearl Greenwald; and his brother Gerard Greenwald. He is survived by: his wife Carmen Greenwald; his children, Marlene Cheatham (Mike), John Greenwald and Christy Knorr (John); and his grandchildren, Meredith Bardill (Ryan) and Matthew Cheatham.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Franklin First United Methodist Church Building Fund or the Alzheimer's Association.
