He was predeceased by: his parents, T. B. Mitchell and Linda Lundy Mitchell; and his son Jason. He is survived by: his wife Carrie; his brother Don; and his sister-in-law Candye Lundy of Hoover, Alabama. He is also survived by cousins, other family and friends.
