He is survived by: his daughter Gina; his wife Gina Peterson Pettit; his children, Rachel Suzanne Pettit, Hannah Ruth Posey (Tim), Paul Thomas Pettit, Grace Peterson Gold (Nick) and John Olson Pettit; and his sisters, Alice Miller and Nance Pettit. He is also survived by his friends, coworkers, and family.
