He was predeceased by: his parents, Preston Paul Griggs and Frances Craft Griggs; his siblings, J. W. Griggs, Everette Paul Griggs and Katherine Marie Potts; and his sister-in-law Clara Griggs.
He is survived by: his wife Sarah Emma Hay; his daughters, Cheryl Lynn Brown (Daryl) of Williamsport and Bonnie Carol Scott (Tim) of Columbia; his sisters, Barbara Faye Day of Columbia and Shirley Ann Potts (Mack) of Columbia; his brother-in-law Wallace Potts of Primm Springs; his grandchildren, Mitchell Thomas Brown, Makayla Beth Scott and Sammie Jo Brown; and his friends, Kenneth, Gail Davis and Tom Holliday, RN. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
