It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mickey Jean Garland in Franklin, Tennessee, born in Erwin, Tennessee, who passed away on June 10, 2023, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry E. and Mary M Bowman (Nelson); her husband Robert "Bob" Garland; her daughter Kathy Whitson; her stepmother Brenda Lewis; and her siblings, Hazel Gillenwater, Angela Casey, Carolyn Rode, Vera Lane and Robert Bowman.
She is survived by: her former husband Charles Whitson, Sr.; her son Charles Whitson, Jr.; her stepson Shane Williams; her grandchildren, Brittany Whitson, Shawna Whitson and Jacob Whitson; and her siblings, Kathy Tipton, Mammie King, Ruby Casey, Harry "Junior" Bowman, Gary Bowman, Carl Smith, Art Smith and Stacey Burke.
