He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Alwin; his wife Kay Bickham Thompson; his children, Michael Thompson (Marcia), Mary Beth Joiner (Jay) and Scott Thompson (May); his grandchildren, Will Joiner (Sidney), Tyler Thompson (Ellie), James Thompson, Julianna Joiner, Hunter Thompson, Gabrielle Thompson, Garrett Joiner and Samuel Thompson; his great grandchild Evelyn Thompson; and his sister Anne Dalrymple (Gerald). He was also cherished by niece and nephews.
